Built by someone who got tired of demand letters
PixGuard exists because copyright trolls are real and image licensing is a mess. We built the most thorough image copyright detection pipeline available so website owners, agencies, and content creators can sleep at night.
The problem
Stock agencies like Getty Images and Shutterstock scrape the entire web looking for unlicensed copies of their photos. When they find one, you get a demand letter for $1,400 or more. Most website owners have no idea their site contains copyrighted images. Stock photos get reused across teams. AI generated images sometimes carry hidden watermarks. Old contractors leave behind unlicensed assets.
Existing tools either find exact copies (TinEye) or check text plagiarism (Copyscape). Nothing scored the actual copyright risk of an image. So we built it.
How PixGuard is different
Most copyright tools use a single signal. Reverse image search. Or text detection. Or watermark spotting. We combine all of them into a single risk score from 0 to 100. Each scan runs through a 9 stage pipeline that includes:
- Vision Transformer classifier for AI generated content
- CLIP semantic analysis for visual similarity
- DINOv2 and SSCD embeddings for stock database matching
- PaddleOCR plus Cloud Vision for watermark text
- SIFT and ORB feature matching for visual watermarks
- Error Level Analysis for detecting removed watermarks
- EXIF, IPTC, XMP, and C2PA metadata extraction
- Source attribution across the web via reverse image search
- VLM (vision language model) for ambiguous cases
Self hosted infrastructure
PixGuard runs on a single GPU server with Cloudflare Tunnel for security. This keeps our costs near zero so we can offer a generous free tier. Most competitors charge $200 per month and run cloud GPU which costs them $4,000 per month. We charge $9.99 per month and our infrastructure costs are roughly $50 per month.
Lower costs mean we can pass savings to users. Free tier gets 100 credits. Starter is $9.99 per month. Pro is $29.99 per month. Business is $79.99 per month. Compare that to Pixsy at $99 per month or TinEye at $200 per month.
Built for content creators, agencies, and teams
PixGuard works for travel bloggers verifying their own photo libraries, agencies running compliance checks for client websites, e-commerce stores auditing thousands of product images, and WordPress administrators scanning entire sites in bulk. Chrome extension. WordPress plugin. REST API. Dashboard. We meet you where you work.
