PixGuard is built by Suraj, its solo founder. It flags images with copyright risk signals and gives each one a 0 to 100 risk score with the reasons behind it, so website owners, agencies, and content teams know which images to investigate first. It estimates risk; it does not give legal advice or confirm infringement.

The problem

Some stock agencies and photographers use image-matching services to find copies of their photos online, and a match can end in a demand letter asking for a license fee. Meanwhile it's easy to lose track of where a site's images came from. Stock photos get reused across teams, a license sits in a former agency's account, and old contractors leave behind assets nobody has a license record for.

Reverse image search tools such as TinEye find copies of one image, and plagiarism checkers such as Copyscape look at text, not images. Neither tells you which of your images to look at first. So we built PixGuard. (See how it compares with TinEye, Copyscape and PicDefense.)

How PixGuard is different

Many tools look at one signal: a reverse image search, a text check, or a watermark. PixGuard combines several signals into one risk score from 0 to 100 and shows the reasons behind it. Every account scan checks:

• EXIF, IPTC, and XMP copyright fields
• Watermark text and logos from 7 stock agencies: Shutterstock, Getty Images, Adobe Stock, iStock, Alamy, 123RF, and Dreamstime
• Tiled watermark patterns
• Error level analysis, which can point to editing
• An estimate of whether the image is AI-generated
• A match against a database of reference image fingerprints

Pro and Business add DINOv2 and SSCD similarity matching for edited or cropped copies, an AI vision review of borderline images, and source lookup for high-risk images, which shows web pages where a matching image appears.

Without an account, the free check looks at the 3 largest images on one page for watermark patterns, a stock-photo look, and unusual pixel patterns. A low score is not permission to use an image, and a high score is not a finding of infringement.

A free account includes 30 image scans with no credit card; they expire 30 days after signup. Pro is $29 per month for about 250 images a month, and Business is $79 per month for about 1,000 images a month. Images already analyzed are free to rescan. Compare plans.
